| Kristi Tortorella has been teaching skating for 15 years in the New York Metro Area. After a successful run as Skating Director at New Roc Ice, she was promoted to General Manager. She was soon managing the notable landmark, The Pond at Bryant Park. Recently, Kristi has found a happy home in the heart of Flushing Meadows Corona Park at the World Ice Arena, where the world comes to skate! | ||

Samuel has been involved with hockey as a player and a coach for over 20 years. A member of USA Hockey, he regularly attends coaching seminars and symposiums for professional development. Growing up in Long Island, Samuel played hockey in the Nassau County High School Hockey League before moving to Boston to study for his bacherlors degree at Boston College. During his time at BC, Samuel worked as a staff assistant in the Boston College Men’s Ice Hockey Office under the all-time winningest active coach in Division I Hockey, Jerry York, and one of the nation’s oldest hockey booster clubs. After graduation he was hired as the Head Coach of the Columbia University Men’s Ice Hockey Club. The team had never played in a championship game in 42 years as a club until Samuel arrived on Morningside and lead them to the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference Tournament Finals in 2010. Prior to coming to the World Ice Arena, he had worked as a youth hockey coach for the New York Islanders Hockey Academy and is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for the game of hockey with the community around Flushing Meadows Corona Park. |
